MCIS Log-in Instructions

In order to begin using MCIS, you must have a user name and password. If your school already provided you with this information, select the option below that best fits your situation. If not, click on “General Use” to set up your account.

Montana Career Information System (MCIS)

If you live in Montana, the Montana Career Information System (MCIS) can help you plan for your future by giving you the information you need to make smart choices about your future. Learn about careers, search for scholarships, apply to colleges and more!

MCIS helps students and their families use information to plan their future by presenting descriptions of different occupations, explanations of the skills and education required to work in those occupations, assessments of the predicted outlook for those career fields and more.

This comprehensive Web site — updated annually by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry — helps students identify occupations they might be interested in pursuing by providing a variety of assessments to complete, including Occupation Sort, O*NET Interest Profiler, Work Importance Locator and Micro-SKILLS.

Students may take the information they collect on the site to the next level by using the “Education and Training” section of MCIS to perform tasks such as review a list of more than 3,500 colleges in the United States, learn about educational programs offered, search for scholarships and other financial opportunities.

Planning for the future can be a daunting task. MCIS can be a valuable — and fun — tool to help students on their way to reaching their goals.
